• To promote and encourage the sustained quality of purebred Hovawart dogs in Canada.

• To educate the Canadian public on the qualities and the standard of the Hovawart dog breed.

• To encourage Hovawart dog breeders and owners in Canada to respect the breed standard recognized by the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI).

• To work in collaboration with relevant groups to protect, maintain and breed Hovawart dogs according to its standard and to establish responsible breeding rules.

​

• To organize sanctioned events, such as specialty conformation shows, temperament tests and educational training workshops.
